You’ve got questions?
Good. I’ve got answers.

Telehealth involves the use of secure, encrypted electronic communications to connect via video software and sessions are conducted essentially the same as in-person sessions. You have the option to use Telehealth when it is more convenient (travel, childcare issues, illness, etc) or as your primary meeting type.

Yes, in fact, I’ve designed a unique office space (Healing Studio by the Ranch) that is conducive to in-person sessions, including Walk, Wheel, & Talk sessions.

No. I have received training and supervision specific to working with individuals. I encourage family and peer support to aid in change throughout treatment, and those support persons are welcome to engage in pre-planned/scheduled sessions, as deemed appropriate.
-
In order to begin treatment, assessment will be done in the first session/couple of sessions to identify what your concerns and goals for treatment are. If you are utilizing insurance, a diagnosis is required for payment. Common diagnoses include those for adjustment, anxiety, depression, panic, and PTSD. I will review any possible diagnoses with you, as a part of treatment.
-
After deciding to begin our work together, I will email you a request to fill out some documents through the secure client portal. We will go over these documents, discuss your history, explore what has brought you to therapy, and discuss your goals during our first intake session.
I encourage clients to meet weekly in the beginning of therapy until our relationship has been established. Clients are often able to move to every other week, or monthly sessions once they have achieved most of their goals or are looking to maintain their level of success.
-
Therapy is a very individual process that we must approach at your own pace. Progress involves work by you both in and outside of the therapy session. The change process requires a commitment of time, attendance of sessions, and the completion of tasks to move forward.

Secure Messaging through the SimplePractice client app is the preferred method of communication. You are able to email me as well as leave a voice message, however, Secure Messaging is the best choice from a security standpoint. Messages are checked periodically throughout the day, and will be returned when time permits, but typically within 24 hours or the next business day.

Effective January 1, 2022, a ruling went into effect called the "No Surprises Act" which requires practitioners to provide a "Good Faith Estimate" about out-of-network care. Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act (PHSA), health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in an insurance plan or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan, that upon request they are entitled to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" of expected charges. Note: The PHSA and GFE does not currently apply to clients who are using insurance benefits, including "out of network benefits'' (i.e., submitting superbills to insurance for reimbursement).
For more information about the No Surprises Act, and your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Please fill out the contact form to schedule a free 15 minute online consultation. During the consultation, I would love to learn a bit more about you and what you’d like to address in therapy. I’ll answer any questions you might have and we’ll determine if we are a good therapeutic fit.
If I’m the right therapist for you, we will discuss availability and schedule your first session. If I’m not the right therapist for you, I can provide you with referrals to other therapists who may be a better fit.
